The JEE Main results will be declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on April 27.
The JEE Main paper I and paper II offline exam were conducted on April 3 and paper I online exam on April 9 and April 10, 2016. About 12 lakh students have appeared for the off-line mode.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering
entrance examination which is conducted for admission in various
engineering colleges and courses all over the country.
The JEE (Main) is the eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad.
The top 1,50,000 score holders in JEE Main will qualify for the JEE Advanced exam scheduled to be held on May 23.
The registrations for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced will begin from April 29 and will close on May 4
The JEE Main Exam was conducted for the first time in the year 1960, which comprised of four subjects including an English paper. The number of candidates taking up these examinations has substantially increased over the years.
This year, the paper-based exam was held on April and around 11 lakh candidates appeared in the JEE Main Exam 2016 and online exams was conducted between April 4 and April 11.

As far as the pattern of the examination is concerned the JEE Main Exam comprises of two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates have the choice of opting for these examinations.
